TRASHED COACHELLA X GLOBAL INHERITANCE

Experiential & Event Artwork

The TRASHed Art of Recycling program was founded by the non-profit organization, Global Inheritance. Through this program they aim to inspire people to recycle through the use of art. Bins that are selected each year for this program and then displayed at the Coachella Music Festival. This encourages concert-goers to not only appreciate artists from all over, but also to recycle and keep the valley clean.

I was the lucky winner of a live painting competition they held for artists to visually represent their creative approach to the themes of global warming using the brand’s polar bear mascot.

Through the use of textural elements and bright color palettes, you will watch the polar bear’s habitat slowly changing from the icy arctic to the dry dessert as you walk around the bin. This concept emphasizes the changing habitats of polar bears caused by global warming. The ending dessert environment was also a nod to Indio, CA; where the bins would be displayed. Following the festival and other pop-up events, the bins get donated to local school to continue the initiatives.
